Saturday’s Book: “The Day Lasts More Than A Hundred Years” by Chingiz Aitmatov

What a fascinating book!

The writer moves between the innermost feelings of people, to the wide open space of the desert in Kazakhstan, to outer space!

And through all of this runs the issue of people trying to maintain their dignity under the repressive Soviet regime.

I recommend!

  1. Hi Naomi!

Last year and for a very brief time I taught a student from Kazakhstan, as her teacher was on leave – she told me so many interesting things about her beautiful country, we Googled it and saw many interesting things! It is a country that combines everything – mountains, steppes, deserts, anything you can imagine!

This is definitely a book I will read and thanks so much for recommending it on your blog : )

    Keep up the super recommendations!
    Vicky
